The fixtures for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase have been released, and English clubs have been handed some mouth-watering encounters.
Arsenal are set for a reunion with 15-time European champions Real Madrid at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners, who lost last season’s final to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties, will also travel to face Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Their other opponents include Real Betis, Lille, Napoli, Sabah and Slavia Prague.
Manchester City will welcome defending champions PSG to the Etihad Stadium in one of the standout fixtures of the league phase. Pep Guardiola’s side will also travel to Barcelona, where they will come up against former City midfielder Rodri, who moved to the Spanish giants this summer.
City’s remaining opponents are Napoli, Sporting Club, Porto, RB Leipzig, AEK Athens and Lens.Aston Villa, back in the Champions League after missing out last season, have also been handed a tough assignment. Unai Emery’s men will host PSG and Borussia Dortmund, while their away trips include Barcelona and Galatasaray. Club Brugge, Fenerbahce, Viking and Slavia Prague complete Villa’s list of opponents.
Manchester United will return to the competition after a two-year absence and will face Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Roma, Sporting Club, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Sabah and Como.Liverpool, meanwhile, will host Atletico Madrid, Porto, Villarreal and Lens at Anfield, with away fixtures against Inter Milan, Club Brugge, Fenerbahce and LASK.
The new Champions League campaign is scheduled to get underway on September 8, 2026, with the final league-phase matches taking place on January 27, 2027.The road to European glory will eventually lead to Madrid, where the Champions League final is scheduled to be played at the Metropolitano Stadium on June 5, 2027.
With Arsenal facing Madrid, City taking on PSG and Villa also meeting the reigning champions, the new Champions League season already promises plenty of drama before a ball is kicked.
