Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has received a major lifeline after Abia State Governor Alex Otti approved the first tranche of financial support for her medical treatment.
The intervention, announced by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Justice Okey Martins, popularly known as JMartins, comes amid growing public concern over the actress’s health.
Sharing the development on his official X handle, JMartins revealed that Governor Otti had authorised the initial payment towards Nwosu’s medical expenses, describing the move as a timely intervention for the Nollywood icon.
Despite the governor’s support, JMartins urged Nigerians not to relent, appealing to well-meaning individuals to continue donating towards the actress’s treatment.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for responding swiftly to the actress’s situation, saying the gesture has brought hope to the veteran screen star and the entertainment industry.
Speaking on behalf of the creative industry, JMartins thanked the governor for standing by one of Nollywood’s most celebrated actresses during her time of need.
The governor’s intervention has sparked fresh calls for more public and private support to ensure Ngozi Nwosu receives the medical care she needs.
