Breaking: NDLEA declares alleged drugs kingpin ‘Odogwu’ wanted, freezes N9.84 Billion

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared an alleged drug kingpin, Nnamuka Kelvin Uchenna, popularly known as “Odogwu,” and three of his suspected associates wanted over their alleged involvement in the operation of a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in Imo State.

The other suspects declared wanted are Emmanuella Chinonso Iroka, Nnamuka Ifeanyi Kingsley, and Ekechi Franklin Chijioke, also known as Ekene Okwunaga.

According to the agency, the declaration followed an order granted by Justice Iniekenimi Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Owerri after the NDLEA filed an application in the case.

The investigation stems from the discovery of an illegal methamphetamine production site at Isiozi, Umuaka, in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State. During a raid carried out on February 25, 2026, operatives recovered 18.4 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine along with other materials used in the production of the illicit drug. The suspects allegedly fled after the operation.

The NDLEA also disclosed that its investigation led to the freezing of bank accounts linked to the suspects with a combined balance of ₦9.84 billion. The agency further secured interim forfeiture orders for several assets allegedly connected to the syndicate, including a filling station, multi-storey residential buildings and four Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs).

NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), praised the officers involved in the operation, describing it as another major breakthrough in the agency’s fight against drug trafficking and financial crimes. He also appealed to members of the public to provide useful information that could help security agencies track down the wanted suspects.
