Nigeria and the global Christian community are mourning the loss of one of its most revered spiritual leaders. Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.
In a statement titled “Glorious Transition”, his family described him as “a faithful soldier of the cross” who dedicated over six decades to fiery evangelism, dynamic teaching, and prophetic demonstrations of God’s power. His ministry touched millions of lives, transforming destinies across Nigeria and beyond.
“He was a spiritual general… a founding father of faith, a loving husband, a devoted father, and a mentor to many,” the family wrote.
Born in Asaga, Ohafia, Abia State, Rev. Ukpai was a pioneer of Pentecostal revival in Nigeria. His crusades, teachings, and healing ministries were known for their intensity, compassion, and unwavering focus on Christ.
