David Umahi Breaks Silence on Nurse Mary Habila’s Death at His Residence

Minister of Works David Umahi has denied claims that the death of nurse Mary Habila at his residence in Ebonyi State was covered up, insisting that the incident was reported to the police without delay.

Umahi explained that the nurse’s family became worried after they could not reach her and eventually forced open her room. She was immediately taken to the David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, where doctors tried to save her life but she was later confirmed dead.

The minister said an autopsy would be carried out with the approval of Habila’s parents to determine the exact cause of her death. He assured the public that the investigation would be transparent and that the family would be fully involved in the process.

Umahi also warned that anyone spreading what he described as false or misleading information about the incident could face legal action. He added that the deceased’s parents would speak publicly to clarify the circumstances surrounding their daughter’s death.
