Burna Boy and Shakira are still riding high on the global music scene as their 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai,” has held on to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Global 200 for a fifth consecutive week.
The song, performed by Nigerian superstar Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, and Colombian music icon Shakira, has also extended its impressive run on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, where it has now spent eight weeks at the top.
Billboard announced the feat on Tuesday, noting that “Dai Dai” remains the biggest song in the world even weeks after the World Cup ended on July 19, following Spain’s 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina.
According to data from Luminate, the song pulled in 44.1 million streams and 6,000 sales worldwide between August 7 and August 13.
Billboard reported: “Dai Dai, which first led the Global 200 in mid-July, drew 44.1 million streams (down 10% week over week) and sold 6,000 (down 9%) worldwide Aug. 7-13, according to Luminate.”
The song also maintained its grip on the Global Excl. U.S. chart, recording 37.8 million streams and 4,000 sales outside the United States during the same period.
“It holds atop Global Excl. U.S., where it first reigned at the beginning of July, with 37.8 million streams (down 10%) and 4,000 sold (down 8%) outside the U.S.”
In America, “Dai Dai” continues to make waves across radio platforms, climbing to No. 3 as the Greatest Gainer on Rhythmic Airplay. The track also enjoyed a week at the top of the Latin Airplay chart in late July.
Meanwhile, Tame Impala’s “Loser” recorded one of the biggest jumps on the Global 200, moving from No. 51 to No. 5 after its streams increased by 72 per cent and sales rose by 27 per cent worldwide. Its surge has been linked to its appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Other songs featured in the movie also enjoyed major boosts, with Steve Lacy’s “Oh Yeah?” climbing from No. 158 to No. 23, while Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse)” moved from No. 53 to No. 29.
The Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories around the world, with figures supplied by Luminate.
For Burna Boy and Shakira, however, the numbers tell a particularly sweet story: the World Cup may be over, but “Dai Dai” is still refusing to leave the top spot.
