Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has opened up about her marriage, past relationship and the personal struggles she faced before venturing into politics.
Ogala spoke about her private life during an interview on The Clarity Zone podcast hosted by Nedu Wazobia. Asked who would take up the role of “first man” of Abia State if she eventually becomes governor, the actress revealed that she is currently single.
She disclosed that she was in a relationship with Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, popularly known as Liberation City, between 2017 and 2019 before she eventually got married.
According to Ogala, her marriage ended in 2022 following a difficult period in which she experienced more than 10 miscarriages.“I’m single now. I dated Pastor Chris Okafor from 2017 to 2019 and then I got married, but my marriage still crashed in 2022 because I had over 10 miscarriages,” she said.
The actress became emotional as she spoke about the experience, revealing a painful chapter of her life that she had largely kept private.
Ogala, who is now seeking the governorship of Abia State under the AAC, has moved from the entertainment industry into politics, where she is positioning herself for the 2027 election.
