Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy and Colombian music icon Shakira have delighted fans after sharing a warm moment during rehearsals for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show.
In a video posted on his X account, Burna Boy was seen exchanging smiles and a friendly hug with Shakira as they prepared for their performance at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey ahead of Sunday’s final.
The Grammy winner captioned the post: “Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go!”The pair are set to perform “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, during the tournament’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show.
FIFA has also confirmed that the star-studded event will feature performances from BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay, alongside appearances by characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.
The halftime show is expected to last longer than the traditional 15-minute break and will also promote global education initiatives for children.The World Cup final will see Spain take on Argentina, with Burna Boy and Shakira once again taking centre stage after performing “Dai Dai” at the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City.
