Tinubu Presides Over First FEC Meeting Since June at State House Abuja

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the State House in Abuja, marking the first council meeting since June 29, 2026.

The meeting began shortly after Tinubu arrived at the Council Chamber at about 2:30 p.m., with the national anthem opening proceedings.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, were among those present. Ministers, presidential aides and heads of government agencies also attended the meeting.

The last FEC meeting was held on June 29 after a break of more than two months. During that session, President Tinubu swore in two new Federal Commissioners representing Bauchi and Kaduna states on the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

The newly appointed commissioners were Amina Gamawa for Bauchi State and Abdullahi Mukhtar for Kaduna State.

Wednesday’s meeting is expected to focus on a number of policy and administrative issues as the Tinubu administration presses ahead with its economic reforms and broader development plans.
