Ossai Ovie Success, a media aide to the Delta State Governor, has reacted to the tragic death of Favour Agbro, the 20-year-old woman who reportedly took her own life after allegedly being raped.
According to him, Favour needed immediate love, emotional support and counselling after the alleged incident, but those around her failed to provide the help she desperately required. He stressed that victims of sexual assault should be protected and supported, not blamed or abandoned.
Ossai also called for a thorough investigation into the case, urging authorities to ensure that the suspect, Odogwu Asaba, is brought to justice if found guilty. He further appealed to Nigerians to stop shaming survivors of sexual violence and instead encourage them to speak up and seek help.
