Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has been appointed Zonal Campaign Coordinator for the South-East in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 presidential election.
The appointment was contained in the full membership list of the campaign council released on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, who disclosed the composition of the council and the various positions assigned to its members.
President Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as Vice Chairmen I and II respectively.
Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was appointed Director-General, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will serve as Secretary. Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru was named Deputy Secretary, with Hadiza Bala Usman as Assistant Secretary.Mbah’s appointment makes him responsible for coordinating the APC presidential campaign structure across the five South-East states.
Other zonal campaign coordinators named by the party are Governor Bassey Otu for the South-South, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the South-West, Governor Umar Bago for the North-Central, Senator Modu Sheriff for the North-East and Governor Uba Sani for the North-West.
The council also has a number of other senior officials overseeing key areas of the campaign. Senate President Godswill Akpabio was named Deputy Director-General, South I, while Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele will serve as Deputy Director-General, South II.
Governor Mai Mala Buni is Deputy Director-General, North I; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, is Deputy Director-General, North II; and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin is Deputy Director-General, North III.
Former Edo State Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, was appointed Deputy Director-General, Mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, will serve as Deputy Director-General, Administration. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke was named Deputy Director-General, Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.
The APC Presidential Campaign Council is structured into various directorates and campaign responsibilities as the ruling party prepares for the 2027 presidential election.
The release of the full membership list formally sets out the party’s campaign structure, with President Tinubu charging members of the council to work towards securing victory for the APC in the January 2027 election.
