The United States has said it will closely monitor Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, with U.S. Congressman Riley Moore stressing the importance of a transparent and credible electoral process.
Speaking during an interview on Noire TV on Saturday, Moore was asked whether the U.S. was following developments ahead of Nigeria’s next general election and if there were plans to support the country’s democratic process.
Responding, he said the United States would be watching the elections closely.
“We will be paying close attention to Nigeria’s 2027 election. We are certainly going to be watching these results, how the elections unfold, and how they are conducted. That’s something my administration and I will be paying very close attention to,” he said.
