Breaking: Two Killed as Motorcycle Crashes Into Pickup Van in Ogun State

Two people, a man and a woman, have lost their lives in a tragic road accident involving a motorcycle and a Dongfeng pickup van at Koto Ajala, along the Owode route in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) confirmed the incident in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi. According to him, preliminary findings indicate that the motorcyclist was speeding and lost control while descending the Koto Ajala hill before crashing into an oncoming pickup van.

The two occupants of the motorcycle died on the spot, while no injuries were recorded among those in the pickup vehicle.

The motorcycle, with registration number FFF 689 HA, collided with a Dongfeng pickup bearing registration number GGE 200 KP. Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) later evacuated the victims’ bodies to the Fakoya Hospital Morgue in Sagamu.

Both vehicles have been taken to a nearby police station as investigations continue. Although traffic was briefly disrupted after the accident, normal movement has since been restored following the intervention of TRACE and FRSC officials.
