A Delta Air Lines flight travelling from Atlanta to Chicago was reportedly struck by a firework while descending into Midway International Airport on Saturday night.
The aircraft, an Airbus A319 operating as Flight 1076, landed safely despite the incident, and no injuries were reported among passengers or crew. According to the airline, the aircraft appeared to have come into contact with a firework during its descent.
The incident happened as millions of Americans marked the United States’ 250th Independence Day celebrations with fireworks across the country.
