WWE has joined the wrestling world in mourning the death of Benjamin Satterley, the British professional wrestler who became widely known to WWE fans as Neville and later established himself as PAC in All Elite Wrestling.
Satterley died at the age of 40, with news of his passing announced by AEW on Sunday. The announcement came as a shock to wrestling fans because he had competed in a match just one day earlier at AEW’s All Out event in Chicago. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
For WWE fans, however, Benjamin Satterley will forever be remembered as Neville, the spectacular high-flying performer whose athleticism made him one of the standout stars of the company’s NXT era.

Satterley joined WWE in 2012 and initially performed under the name Adrian Neville before eventually becoming simply Neville. He quickly became an important figure in NXT, where his remarkable agility, aerial ability and fast-paced wrestling style earned him a strong following.

In 2014, Neville defeated Bo Dallas to win the NXT Championship, becoming one of the central figures of the developing brand. Neville eventually made the transition to WWE’s main roster in 2015. He later became a major figure in WWE’s cruiserweight division and captured the WWE Cruiserweight Championship twice. His championship run helped establish him as one of the division’s leading performers during that period.

When AEW was launched, Satterley became one of the promotion’s early major signings in 2019. Under the PAC name, he continued to build a reputation for intense matches, spectacular athleticism and a wrestling style that had made him a favourite among fans long before his AEW arrival.
His AEW career brought further championship success. He became the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion, a title that was later renamed the AEW International Championship, and he also became a two-time AEW World Trios Champion.

At the event in Chicago, PAC faced Andrade El Ídolo in an AEW National Championship contest. The match was his final professional wrestling appearance.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who worked with Satterley during his early NXT years, described him as an extraordinary talent and a kind person. Other WWE stars also expressed their shock and sadness. Rhea Ripley described the news as tragic, while Alexa Bliss expressed disbelief over his passing. Paul Heyman also paid tribute, remembering Satterley not only for his wrestling ability but for the person he was outside the ring.
Tributes have also come from across AEW and the wider wrestling industry.
AEW founder and CEO Tony Khan described Satterley as a beloved husband and friend while praising his wrestling knowledge, athleticism, professionalism and dedication to the sport.
Fellow wrestler Will Ospreay also paid an emotional tribute, describing Satterley as a major inspiration and expressing gratitude for the opportunity to have shared the ring with him on numerous occasions.
Satterley’s journey in professional wrestling began long before he became a household name among WWE and AEW audiences. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, he began his professional wrestling career in 2004 after developing an interest in the sport at a young age.
Over the following two decades, he wrestled across different promotions and countries, steadily building a reputation for his extraordinary athleticism.
His style was particularly distinctive. He combined speed, aerial manoeuvres and technical wrestling in a way that allowed him to stand out even in a sport filled with larger-than-life performers.
For many fans, watching Neville or PAC perform was less about size and more about what he could do inside the ring.
His career also reflected the changing nature of modern professional wrestling. He successfully performed under different names and in different promotions, adapting to different audiences while retaining the athletic identity that had made him popular.
