Nigerian Soldier Arrested After Allegedly Begging for Money During TikTok Live in Military Uniform
A Nigerian soldier has reportedly been taken into military custody after appearing in uniform during a TikTok live session where he allegedly appealed for financial assistance from popular content creator, King Pedro.

The soldier, who is attached to the Nigerian Army Aviation Hangar in Minna, Niger State, was reportedly arrested at the 234 Battalion in Badagry, Lagos State, where he was staying at the time of the incident.
According to a military source, the arrest followed a TikTok live broadcast that quickly went viral on Saturday. During the session, the soldier allegedly asked King Pedro for financial help while dressed in his military uniform.
Rather than offering assistance, King Pedro reportedly criticised the soldier, saying it was inappropriate for a serving military personnel to solicit money online while wearing an official uniform.
During the live session, the soldier disclosed that he had been serving in the Nigerian Army for about five years and was currently deployed to Niger State. When King Pedro asked whether he had eaten, the soldier reportedly replied, “Yes sir, I have not eaten.”
King Pedro expressed disappointment over the incident, arguing that the soldier had brought the military into disrepute by appearing in uniform while asking for financial assistance. He stated that if the soldier genuinely needed help, he should have sought it while dressed in civilian clothing rather than in military attire.
Following the incident, a video believed to have been recorded after the soldier’s arrest surfaced online. In the clip, he reportedly identified himself as an officer attached to the Nigerian Army Aviation Hangar in Minna and confirmed that he was staying at the 234 Battalion in Badagry when he was taken into custody.
The Nigerian Army has yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
