Breaking: Nigerian Army Trains 14,000 New Soldiers to Fight Terrorism, Banditry

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Waidi Shaibu, has revealed that the Nigerian Army has so far trained 14,000 of the 28,000 additional soldiers approved by President Bola Tinubu to strengthen the country’s security.

According to the Army Chief, the recruitment is part of ongoing efforts to boost the military’s capacity in the fight against terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes across the country. He noted that the remaining recruits are expected to complete their training in due course.

The move is aimed at increasing the Army’s manpower as security agencies continue operations against criminal groups in different parts of Nigeria.
