BREAKING: IGP Disu Orders Seizure of Vehicles Without Number Plates Over Security Concerns

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has reportedly directed police commands across the country to intensify enforcement against vehicles operating without number plates, concealed plates, or improper registration as part of efforts to strengthen national security. Similar police directives have emphasized that vehicles without proper identification can be used to facilitate criminal activities and make investigations more difficult.

The Nigeria Police Force has previously maintained that covered, concealed, or unauthorized number plates pose significant security risks and has ordered the impoundment of such vehicles and prosecution of offenders. The renewed enforcement is aimed at improving vehicle traceability and supporting ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping, banditry, and other security threats across the country.
