Ghanaian music star Shatta Wale has revealed why he is not eager to chase international performances like many African artistes. According to the singer, Ghana has played the biggest role in his financial success, providing him with opportunities, support and respect that have helped him build his wealth over the years.
Speaking about his career, Shatta Wale said he has always viewed himself as an international star but believes he can earn just as much, if not more, by performing in Ghana. He credited the country’s strong appreciation for music and entertainment, saying local fans and event organisers continue to reward his work generously.
The musician also noted that he enjoys a level of recognition and respect in Ghana that rivals what some of the world’s biggest music icons receive in their home markets. He stated that his shows are properly funded and professionally organised, making it easier for him to maintain a successful career without relying heavily on overseas engagements.
Shatta Wale further claimed that he can earn up to $1 million from performances in Ghana and revealed that some offers from abroad do not match what he makes at home. He explained that he often turns down shows in cities such as London because the financial returns are less attractive, insisting that Ghana remains the foundation of both his success and long-term prosperity.
