You Will Collapse and Die!” — Wike Fires Heavy Curses at APC Governors Supporting Fubara; Nigerians Fire Back, Remind Him of Amaechi and Odili

The political drama in Rivers State has taken a spiritual and dark turn as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has gone “full throttle,” releasing heavy curses on high-ranking politicians.

Speaking at a recent event, Wike didn’t hold back, targeting Senators, House of Rep members, Ministers, and specifically APC Governors who are allegedly backing his estranged godson, Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The “Death” Curse

Wike, visibly charged, warned that anyone supporting what he describes as “betrayers” will face a similar fate. He leveled a specific warning at second-term governors with succession plans:

“Whether you’re a Senator, Rep member, Minister, or Governor and you support betrayers, people will also betray you in life. Every second-term Governor who has an ambition to put a successor and is supporting betrayal, you’ll never survive it; you’ll collapse and die!”

The Minister’s outburst is seen as a direct response to the growing support Fubara is receiving from certain APC elements and northern power brokers who seem tired of Wike’s overbearing influence in Rivers politics.

“Look in the Mirror” — Nigerians React

While Wike’s supporters cheered the “lion of Ubuntu,” a massive wave of Nigerians on social media have told the Minister to “hold his peace.”

The hashtag #Wike is currently buzzing with many reminding him of his own political history. The consensus among critics is simple: He who seeks equity must come with clean hands.

Key highlights from the online reactions:

  • The Amaechi Factor: Many reminded Wike that he was the Chief of Staff to Rotimi Amaechi, who helped him become a Minister, only for Wike to turn around and fight Amaechi for the Rivers governorship in 2015.
  • The Odili Legacy: Others pointed out his relationship with his former boss and benefactor, Peter Odili, which also hit the rocks during his quest for total political control.
  • The Irony: One user wrote, “Wike is cursing people for doing exactly what he perfected. Who betrayed Amaechi more than Wike? If curses worked that way, he should have ‘collapsed’ since 2014.”

What This Means for Rivers State

This latest outburst signals that the peace accord previously brokered is officially dead. With Wike taking the battle to the “spiritual” and “death-wish” level, the tension in Rivers is expected to hit a boiling point as the 2027 permutations begin to take shape.

What do you think, readers? Is Wike right to call out “betrayal,” or is he just a victim of the same game he played against his predecessors?
