President Bola Tinubu recently visited the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals in Lagos, where he praised the facility as a “great phenomenon of our time” and a “massive investment” that showcases Nigeria’s industrial potential.
During the visit, Aliko Dangote announced that the main road leading to the refinery would be named “Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road” in honor of the President’s contributions to the project.
Dangote credited Tinubu as the visionary behind the Lekki Free Trade Zone, which laid the foundation for the refinery’s development.
Tinubu also commissioned the Deep Sea Port Access Road, a strategic infrastructure project linking the Lekki Deep Sea Port, Free Trade Zone, and Dangote Refinery to major highways.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between federal and state governments to accelerate infrastructure development across Nigeria.
The refinery, which has a processing capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is expected to reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported fuel and strengthen the country’s energy sector.
