NYSC Portal Opens March 12 — And You’ve Got Just Six Days to Register. The wait is almost over, but don’t get too comfortable — because when the NYSC portal opens, it won’t stay open for long. The National Youth Service Corps made it official on Friday, announcing via its social media platforms that the online registration portal will be available for prospective corps members from March 12 to March 18, 2026. Six days. That’s all you get. So if you’re a prospective corps member reading this, the countdown has already begun.
This is the registration window for the next mobilisation batch, and NYSC has been crystal clear about who gets in and who gets left behind. Only graduates whose names appear on the approved Senate or Academic Board lists submitted by their institutions will be eligible to participate in the registration process. If your name is not on that list, the portal will not be your friend — no matter how many times you refresh it.
There’s more. The NYSC has advised prospective corps members to ensure that the name on their records with the National Identity Management Commission corresponds exactly with the name appearing on the Senate list and the NYSC portal.
This is not a small thing. A missing middle name, an initial where a full name should be, or any discrepancy between your NIMC record and your certificate can grind your entire registration to a halt. Fix it now, not on March 12. Before you even think of touching the portal, NYSC has directed applicants to confirm their details through the Senate list verification portal before proceeding with online registration. That is your first step — not logging into the portal, not uploading documents. Verify first, register second.
The government is also not playing games about certificate integrity. The Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, announced stricter measures to curb certificate fraud, warning that graduates without proper documentation would not be eligible for mobilisation. The era of cutting corners is firmly over.
For foreign-trained graduates, your evaluation by the Federal Ministry of Education must be completed before any of this applies to you. If you haven’t started that process, you are already behind.Bottom line — March 12 to March 18 is your window. It is narrow, it is firm, and NYSC will not be moved by sentiment or technical excuses. Get your Senate list verified, sort your NIMC details, and have your documents ready to go.Corpers wee wee!
