The Mahmuda terrorist group has launched fresh attacks in Duruma village, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing three villagers in the early hours of Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
This new militant faction, reportedly linked to Boko Haram, has been expanding its reign of terror, targeting communities in Kaiama and Baruten LGAs of Kwara State, as well as Babana and Wawa Districts in Borgu LGA, Niger State.
🔍 Locals claim the group had lived in the forests peacefully for years, but tensions escalated after a military raid during Ramadan that killed some of their members.
