FG Declares June 6 & 9 Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Adha Celebration

A Time for Reflection, Sacrifice & Unity

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration2.

Minister’s Message to Nigerians

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement, congratulating Muslim faithful across Nigeria and the Diaspora on the occasion.

🔹 He urged Muslims to embrace the spirit of sacrifice and faith, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).

🔹 He encouraged Nigerians to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity during the festive period.

🔹 He reassured citizens that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is designed to restore Nigeria’s progress.

The Minister emphasized that Eid-ul-Adha is not just a celebration but a time for reflection, urging Nigerians to support the government’s efforts in nation-building
